Configure Twinkly Generation II for the first Time

Just plug Twinkly Generation II into the power supply to switch on.

The round button on the controller allows you to swipe through a gallery of pre-set effects but to switch on the magic and make your decoration really Smart, you need to download the Twinkly app for tablets and smartphones

That way you can connect Twinkly to your local Wi-fi network and access to many new features such as integration with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and the online effects gallery.

Configuring Twinkly Generation II

To configure Twinkly for the first time, follow this guided procedure.
Check that you have access to the mobile network and local Wi-Fi network on your smartphone.
Make sure you have your local Wi-Fi network password handy.


Download the mobile app
The app is available on the AppStore and Google Play Store.

Minimum requirements for using the Twinkly app are:

  • For iOS devices: iOS 11 or later
  • For Android devices: Android 4.4 or later.

If you have already downloaded the Twinkly app, make sure you have the latest update! We update the app regularly so your experience is even more amazing!


Set up your lights and switch on your Twinkly
Decorate with your Twinkly lights as you like, connect Twinkly to the main socket.

The controller status indicator will be flashing green.

This indicator is very important as it shows the status of your Twinkly:

FLASHING GREEN: Access Point mode – no device connected
FIXED GREEN: Access Point mode – connected

FLASHING BLUE: WiFi mode – connection in progress
BLUE FIXED: WiFi mode – connected

FLASHING RED: WiFi mode – unable to connect
FIXED RED: General error
FIXED CYAN: SETUP mode (Bluetooth on)
YELLOW: Firmware update in progress
BLINKING WHITE: Reset procedure in progress


Login or Signup
Launch the Twinkly application and create your user account:

  • By email: click on the “Sign Up” button, enter your data (Full Name, Email, Password) and click on the “Sign up” button.
    Confirm your registration by clicking on the link you will receive via email.
  • Via Facebook: Click on the “Sign in with Facebook” button to access Twinkly via Facebook.
    You can manage all the data sent to Twinkly through Facebook Access Management panel.

If you already have a Twinkly credentials (email and password), click on the “Log in” button to access the application.



Forgotten password: to recover your forgotten password click on the link “Forgot Password?” and enter your email to receive a password recovery link on your inbox.



Controller Selection
After logging in, the application will automatically launch a procedure to search for any Twinkly devices already registered. At the end of the procedure, the following screen will appear: select the controller corresponding to the one in your possession.

Connect Twinkly Generation II to your Local Wi-fi 

Make sure Bluetooth on your smartphone is turned on.

The app will show this screen

Press and hold the button on the controller until the light turns to a solid CYAN color (about 5 seconds). This indicates that Twinkly is ready to be paired via Bluetooth to your phone.

Don’t leave the app, the automatic procedure will present the following screen:

Select your local network, type the password in and click on: “Connect”.

Twinkly is now connected to your local Wi-Fi network and is ready to give its best!
The light on the controller is now solid blue and indicates that Twinkly is associated with a local Wi-Fi network.

With Generation II products you can also:

  • Establish a direct connection to your smartphone,
  • Manually connect Twinkly to your Local Wi-fi.

Rename your Twinkly
You can rename your Twinkly now. If you add others over time you can identify them easily.
Manage more than one Twinkly from the same smartphone you need to link them to a local Wi-Fi network.
