Celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community with new effects and Pride installations

Twinkly lights to illuminate the next spaceship launch Lezen Celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community with new effects and Pride installations 3 minuten Volgende Father's Day: find the perfect gift for every dad

This year, at Twinkly, we want to celebrate the diversity of identities within the LGBTQIA+ community, and shine a light on each one of them, which is why we've released our Pride 2023 effects set for all your Twinkly devices: from today, will have the option to create a colorful display using 19 different LGBTQIA+ flags and color variations, from the Pride flag to those representing the many minorities and gender identities that make part of the LGBTQIA+ community such as Transgender, Pansexual and Non-Binary, just to name a few.

As we approach Pride parades around the world, the flags serve as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for inclusion and the need for greater representation of the many identities that form part of the LGBTQIA+ community, including people of color and trans people. At Twinkly, we believe in celebrating diversity and inclusivity, which is why we have created new colorful effects for your lights inspired by the new Pride flags.

You can download the new effects for free on the Twinkly App.

Our participation in the New York Pride events

And to honor Pride Month and its roots, we will have our lights on display at three of New York City's most historic LGBTQIA+ bars located in West Village - Duplex Piano Bar, Stonewall Inn and Kettle of Fish.
In addition to taking in the lights all throughout the month of June, attendees who visit the bars will have the option to purchase the ‘Twinkly Cocktail’, where a portion of the proceeds will go to The Stonewall Gives Back Initiative, the official and only nonprofit of The Stonewall Inn that was inspired by the struggles and ideals of the LGBTQIA+ rights movement born from the Stonewall Inn Uprising of 1969.

Our participation in the Rome, Italy Pride events

In Rome, Italy, Twinkly will participate in the Roma Pride events: from June 2 to 18, at the Pride Croisette inside the beautiful setting of the Terme di Caracalla, we will be lighting up the Roma Pride Wall: a hube light installation, 10m long by 4m tall, illuminated by our signature LED lights, that will pay homage to the many identities and subjectivities of the LGBTQIA+ community by projecting a sequence of 19 different flags representing it. A way to make them known and visible while celebrating the many gender identities.

Share your Pride content using the hashtag #TwinklyPride. Happy celebrations!

Weird ref to “transsexual” as an example.

For context- please see the below from GLAAD.

Transsexual (adj.)
An older term that originated in the medical and psychological communities. As the gay and lesbian community rejected homosexual and replaced it with gay and lesbian, the transgender community rejected transsexual and replaced it with transgender. Some people within the trans community may still call themselves transsexual. Do not use transsexual to describe a person unless it is a word they use to describe themself. If the subject of your news article uses the word transsexual to describe themself, use it as an adjective: transsexual woman or transsexual man.
