If you plan to use your Twinkly Christmas lights outdoors, it's best to protect controllers and power supplies with dry boxes or place them in a safe, dry location.

Thanks to Mapping technology available with the Twinkly App, you can place your smart lights however you like. The Twinkly App pinpoints the location of each smart LED light, ensuring that the effects are perfectly aligned with the shape of your Christmas lights installation.

Always check the IP rating of your Twinkly smart LED lights. An IP44 rating means the smart lights are suitable for outdoor use, while an IP20 rating means they should only be used indoors. Make sure your device, especially the controller, is not covered or placed on top of anything that can trap heat (such as a carpet or rug) and keep it away from heat sources to prevent overheating. Do not cut or manipulate Twinkly lighting products. Altering them can cause damage and will void the warranty.

Use the Grouping feature in the Twinkly app to link two or more Christmas light sets together. Set up a Sync group to make them play the same effects or a Join group to make them act a single light set. An Area group is for an extra-large installation. Each Twinkly device needs to be plugged into a power outlet using its power adapter.

Vertical or diagonal lighting effects work best on Christmas trees. Try options like snow, fireworks, waves, up-down, diagonal, chroma falls, sparkles, or candy cane for stunning results. Complex patterns display best on Christmas trees with high LED light density.

Keep smart Christmas lights in good condition by properly storing them after the holiday season. First, turn off and unplug the smart LED lights to avoid any electrical issues. Carefully untangle the Christmas lights to avoid knots or kinks, then wrap them around a spool, a piece of cardboard, or a dedicated light storage reel to keep them organized. If possible, use the original packaging, or store the smart lights in a sturdy container like a plastic storage bin with a lid to protect against dust and moisture. Store the Twinkly Lights in a cool, dry place and keep the container away from direct sunlight.

Twinkly Light Trees for Christmas come in various heights and smart LED counts. The only difference is the number of poles needed for mounting. Each additional height requires one more pole. You can find a tutorial for mounting here.
