Discover a new level of community and organization with the Twinkly App thanks to game-changing new features designed to let you share your custom effects with other Twinkly users, browse and find effects faster, and save your effects across devices.

Here’s a quick look at what’s new with the latest Twinkly app update: 

  • Share – Send your effects (either customized with the effects editor or created in the FX Wizard) to friends or the Twinkly community. 

  • Expand – Discover and download new effects from others. 

  • Organize – Browse smarter using tabs, filters, and a search bar. 

  • Synchronize – Access your full gallery across all your devices.

Effect sharing: Great effects are meant to be shared

What's new

Inspire and connect with other Twinkly users by sending out your custom designs and animations for download. You can now generate sharing links for any effect you’ve personally created or edited. 

How it works

Choose an effect to share: When viewing an effect you have created or customized, you will see the “share” icon on the bottom of your screen. Tapping the icon will allow you to generate the sharing link. The sharing function also works with GIFs.  

Share a link: Copy the link and send it via chat, email, or social media to any friend or Twinkly user.  

The user will receive a snapshot copy of your effect in their gallery. To see any changes you make afterward requires them to redownload the effect. The user can delete the effect, but cannot edit, copy or reshare it. 

The link you send always points to the most recent version of your effect. If you update the effect and keep sharing active, your friend will see the updated design when they click the link again. 

You can disable sharing at any time or delete the effect, which makes the link invalid.

 

Receive new effects: Grow your gallery 

What's new

Amplify your Effects Gallery with a world of styles from the Twinkly creative community. The sharing link gives you a preview of the effect before letting you download and save it to your gallery.  

How it works

Click the sharing link: Once a link has been shared with you (via chat, email or social media, for example), open it on a device that you use to control your Twinkly lights. 

The link opens the app and displays a preview of the shared effect so you know exactly what you’re adding. Download the effect to save it to your gallery.  

If you are unable to view the effect once it has been saved, ensure that the Twinkly device you are using it on has the same color profile – for example, a multicolor effect will not appear in your gallery if you are using a Silver & Gold edition of Twinkly lights.  

Don’t have the Twinkly App yet? No problem! When someone shares an effect link with you, tapping the link will open a landing page. From there, you’ll be guided to download the Twinkly App. Try the link again to preview and save it in your Effects Gallery. 

Personal copy: Once downloaded, the effect is saved to your Downloaded tab (read further to see the new tab features in the Effects Gallery). You cannot edit it, however it can be deleted. 

If the creator updates their version of the effect, the one you downloaded remains unchanged unless you click the link again to get the new version.

 

Personalize Your View: A smarter gallery with tabs, search & filters

What's new

Find effects faster with the updated Effects Gallery, reimagined for smoother navigation and instant organization. Filters, sorting options, and a search bar make switching and browsing effects quick, easy and intuitive.   

How it works

Use the filter tabs to view only selected effects: 

  • All – Shows everything you can access: default effects, your own, downloads, and shared ones.
  • My Effects – Your own custom creations or modified effects.
  • Downloaded – Effects you’ve added from the Store or from shared links.
  • Favorites – Your hand-picked favorites flagged for quick access.

The search bar lets you type the effect name or part of it to instantly find what you need.

Sorting options allow you to order effect from Most recent → oldest, Oldest → most recent, Alphabetical (A → Z).

To keep things clear and smooth, filters stay active during your session until you switch to a different Twinkly device, change layout type, log out or restart the app. 

 

Multi-device sync: Your effects, everywhere you log in

What's new

Effects are now stored in your Twinkly account, not just your device.

How it works

Wherever you sign in, your entire gallery follows you, whether it’s a phone, tablet, or a new device.
